“We should have one Secretary of Business, instead of nine different departments that are dealing with things like giving loans to SBA or helping companies with exports.”Is this another piece of Obama's scattered second term jigsaw puzzle plan, a Secretary of Business instead of nine different departments? Nine different departments can be a bit messy and irritating, but they are indicative of our government structure - three branches of government, three different levels of government. Our government is designed to keep one person from having complete control of the country, and this is not by accident or without purpose (hence the word "designed"). What this country doesn't need is another unelected bureaucrat pushing Obama's agenda. Plus, the idea of a Secretary of Business takes the free out of "free market enterprise." As a cocky rapper once said, "No one man should have all that power."
And what is Obama going to do with a Secretary of Business? His jobs council hasn't met since the beginning of the year and he doesn't listen to the debt commission, so why would we think he'd work well with a Secretary of Business? Obama does not like to listen unless he's being told what he wants to hear, nor does he like to take responsibility for his actions. Appointing a Secretary of Business would be a way to absolve him of any blame or responsibility if something stupid were to happen. And if this is his best idea for the next four years, then why vote for him? You have a guy who's so aloof about business he wants to find another guy to fix it and another guy who owned a successful business. It's a no-brainer.
